The Opportunity Are you a Diesel Fitter with a passion for maintaining and optimising heavy mobile equipment? Thiess is seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our high-performing team supporting operations at Groote Eylandt, NT .

As a key member of the maintenance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our fleet through preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and component change-outs.

Roster: 7/7 FIFO | Location: Groote Eylandt, NT (FIFO from Cairns or Darwin) | Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time

As The Diesel Fitter, You Will

- Perform servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
- Complete breakdown repairs, fault finding and component change-outs safely and efficiently.
- Utilise OEM manuals, technical bulletins and computer-based systems to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and promote a strong safety culture.
- Collaborate with the broader maintenance team to improve equipment reliability and performance.

About You

- Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Fitter trade qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience within mining or heavy earthmoving environments.
- Experience maintaining CAT and/or Hitachi mobile equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Desirable

- Experience with vehicle air-conditioning systems.
- HR Driver's Licence.
