About The Venue

Established in 1998, The Shag has established itself as an icon of Perth City, located on the Swan River in Elizabeth Quay. We're independently owned and operated which provides us the ability to create a flexible and dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leads the induction, training, and ongoing development of Supervisors and F&B; Attendants, consistently monitoring and evaluating performance to ensure high service standards
- Strategically allocates Supervisors and Food & Beverage Attendants to meet anticipated customer demand, ensuring seamless service delivery while managing break compliance in line with operational requirements
- Cultivates a welcoming, safe, and vibrant environment for guests, consistently exceeding expectations in food and beverage service and resolving concerns with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency
- Oversees the effective operation of the point-of-sale system, ensuring strict adherence to cash handling, banking, reconciliation, and financial reporting procedures
- Leads opening and closing procedures in accordance with venue standards, completing and documenting operational checklists to ensure smooth handover between shifts
- Manages beverage inventory control, including stock storage, ordering, supplier liaison, and quality assurance, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with beverage control policies
- Maintains the presentation and functionality of the bar, venue layout, displays,



and equipment to optimise operational efficiency and enhance the overall guest experience
- Accurately reviews, enters, and approves timesheets for direct reports, ensuring compliance with payroll processes
- Maintains statutory and operational registers, including Responsible Service of Alcohol, incident, and maintenance logs, preparing and submitting reports in accordance with compliance requirements

What We Offer

- Flexible casual position of 25-38 hours a week, depending on the right fit for candidate with potential to transition to full time
- Level 5 HIGA Award pay rate

About You This is a hands on, feet on the ground role. The right candidate must thrive on leading the team from the front, working across all departments and be seen as the face of the Venue.

- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
- A natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Full weeknight and weekend availability
- Provide RSA, Food Handlers Cert, Approved Managers & National Police Clearance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems
- Deep understanding and execution of workplace safety standards
- 2 years Hospitality management experience, or 3 years Hospitality supervisory experience
