About the opportunity

Eager to showcase your leadership skills in a unique opportunity? NSW Health Pathology are seeking a Duty Supervisor to join the Central Specimen Reception department at Randwick in a temporary full time capacity. The position will run until 30th June 2027 with a chance of ongoing employment.

This role operates across a 7-day rotating roster, with start times between 6:45 am and 2:00 pm, including occasional overnight shifts. Rosters are determined by the operational needs of the laboratory and may be adjusted accordingly. Weekend and public holiday shifts form part of the roster.

What you'll be doing

- Ensuring the Specimen Reception area is run efficiently, cost-effectively and meets laboratory best practice in ensuring optimum turn-around-times for results.
- Responsible for the supervision of staff within the Section and assigning day-to-day activities to the team.
- Ensure the prompt reception, data entry and pre-analytical preparation of pathology samples within the Department and supervision of the team responsible for these services.

6. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
7. Willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster, including weekends, public holidays, night shifts, and oncall as required.
