Role Description:
Full-time and casual positions available The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician role is based in Townsville, QLD. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems across industrial, commercial, and emerging energy projects, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine inspections, diagnostics, and corrective maintenance on motors, process equipment,
and instrumentation devices; calibrating and testing measurement and control instruments; and documenting all work in line with company procedures.
The technician will interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, support commissioning activities, and collaborate with project and engineering teams to deliver efficient asset performance. The role also includes participating in safety programs, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing technical support to clients and colleagues as required.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Motor Control and Troubleshooting for electrical systems and equipment.
- Proficiency in Process Control and Instrumentation for industrial and commercial applications.
- Experience with Calibration of measurement and control devices to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Relevant electrical trade qualification or apprenticeship completion, with current electrical license as required in Queensland.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian and Queensland electrical standards, safety regulations, and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
- Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Experience in industrial, heavy industry, or renewable energy sectors is highly regarded; instrumentation certification or additional training is an advantage.
