Established over 38 years ago, we are a leading Electrical Contractor and Engineering company operating within the commercial and industrial electrical and communications sector specalising within the data centre space. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical BIM Lead to join our Engineering andSite teams on a full-time basis, located in Rockdale.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Form a thorough understanding of the design elements of projects from design input documentation, including tender drawings, specifications, models and the relevant design stage requirements.
- Set up new electrical and communications projects with the relevant file structures and Common Data Environment (CDE), adhering to all agreed BIM standards and BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
- Set up and manage the electrical model in line with project requirements, developing and maintaining project-specific Revit families and templates.
- Produce and develop coordinated 3D Revit models and 2D design documentation for electrical projects, including floor plans, sections and details.
- Develop transparent design documentation in accordance with the scope of works and all relevant design input documentation to produce concept, tender, design and IFC documentation.
- Manage, coordinate and generate shop drawings, schedules, take-offs, red-line drawings and as-built drawings to Code A status, in coordination with engineering, construction and QA/QC teams.
- Coordinate design with services trades and building elements, aligning all electrical services with the other MEP disciplines to prevent clashes.
- Create and maintain Navisworks / Revizto federated models and participate in clash detection workshops, producing regular clash reports as set out in the project BEP and working with the other MEP trades and the GC to resolve clashes.
- Understand construction processes and incorporate constructability requirements into the design.




- Effectively communicate with construction and management teams regarding design elements and concepts, and respond to design queries from management, the construction team, subcontractors and clients.
- Review project specifications, recognise variations, and formally track them through the RFI and change management process.
- Maintain revision control using a Drawing Register and keep BIM documentation current within the project SharePoint / CDE folders.
- Attend project and coordination meetings, producing minutes where required, and contribute to weekly progress reporting.
- Observe all HSE requirements and help foster a collaborative, respectful and productive team environment.
- Continuously improve personal skills, staying updated with BIM industry best practices, standards and protocols (e.g. ISO 19650), and contribute to lessons-learned / continuous improvement logs.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to project teams, answering BIM-related queries and offering practical solutions.

Skills and Qualifications:

- 5+ years of Revit MEP experience working with contractors and consultants, ideally with an electrical / communications focus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound understanding of MEP, structural and architectural design concepts and systems.
- Proficiency in the relevant software suites including Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Relux, PowerCAD and Revizto.
- Advanced knowledge of BIM documentation, standards and BIM Execution Plan (BEP) development.
- Experience in project setup, CDE management and drawing revision control.
- Experience managing workloads and meeting deadlines while working across multiple projects.
- Firm understanding of building techniques, codes and requirements directly associated with electrical and communications services.
- Experience in Data Centre projects an advantage.
