Role Description This part-time remote Electronics Engineer role supports Oviedo's Lab in the design, development, and testing of electronic systems and circuits for ongoing research projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and refining circuit designs, selecting appropriate electronic components, and performing simulations and analyses to ensure reliable performance.
The engineer will prepare documentation such as schematics, test procedures, and technical reports, and collaborate with researchers to translate experimental requirements into practical electronic solutions. The role also involves troubleshooting and resolving issues in prototypes, implementing improvements based on test data, and coordinating with the team through virtual meetings and online collaboration tools.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust skills in Electronic Engineering and Electrical Engineering, with the ability to apply fundamental principles to research-focused projects.
- Candidates should possess solid Circuit Design skills,
including experience with schematic capture, PCB layout tools, and circuit simulation software.
- Candidates should possess practical expertise in Electronics, including component selection, prototyping, and integration of sensors, actuators, and embedded systems.
- Candidates should possess Testing skills, including development of test plans, use of measurement instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators), and analysis of test results.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field, along with experience in laboratory or project-based work.
- Additional beneficial skills include familiarity with embedded programming (e.g., microcontrollers), basic knowledge of signal processing, strong documentation practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote research environment.
