Security Technician – 2+ Years’ Experience

JB Security Gold Coast is growing, and we’re looking for a Security Technician to join our team. If you have 2+ years’ experience in the electronic security industry, enjoy working with technology and want to develop into a well-rounded technician, we’d like to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to work across alarm systems, CCTV, access control and intercoms, gaining practical experience across a broad range of security technologies and applications.

We work with leading security technologies including Bosch Solution 6000, Protege WX, Inception, Integriti, Tecom, Hikvision, Hik-Central and NX Witness.

The Role

This is a hands-on field position where you’ll work alongside experienced technicians while developing the skills to work independently.



Your day-to-day work will include:

- Installing and commissioning new security systems
- CCTV installations and configuration
- Alarm system installations and upgrades
- Access control and electronic locking
- Intercom and gate access systems
- Fault finding and diagnostics
- Servicing and preventative maintenance
- Programming and configuring security equipment
- Working directly with customers on site

You’ll have the opportunity to work across different areas of the industry rather than being limited to one type of system. We want our technicians to understand why a system works, not just how to install it. You’ll be encouraged to develop your technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and confidence as you progress.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has 2+ years’ experience in the electronic security industry
- Holds the appropriate Queensland security industry licence or is eligible to obtain one
- Has experience with alarm systems, CCTV, access control and intercoms
- Has a good understanding of low-voltage cabling and basic electrical principles
- Can read basic plans and understand cable paths and system layouts
- Is comfortable using hand and power tools




- Enjoys fault finding and solving technical problems
- Takes pride in neat cabling and quality workmanship
- Is reliable, punctual and well presented
- Can work independently as well as part of a small team
- Has good communication skills and is comfortable dealing with customers
- Holds a current Australian driver’s licence
