Looking for an experienced embedded firmware engineer — short-term contract, Australia
Coratronics builds embedded hardware and firmware for IoT products. Our devices connect to the cloud mostly over LoRaWAN and CAT-M1, running on ESP32 and STM32.
We need short-term help from someone who already knows this space well. This is a contract engagement, not a training role. You should be able to start contributing right away.
What you'd work on:
- Embedded firmware development on ESP32 (ESP-IDF) and STM32
- LoRaWAN stack integration, testing and debugging (Semtech LoRa Basics Modem, RAK modules)
- Getting devices talking reliably to a LoRaWAN network server
- Power management for battery-powered field sensors
- Peripheral and sensor integration, board bring-up and debug
- Hardware design review — sanity-checking schematics and layouts from a firmware and RF perspective
What we're looking for:
- Solid C skills in embedded,
real-time environments
- ESP-IDF and/or STM32 experience
- Hands-on wireless IoT experience — LoRaWAN especially, but cellular or BLE work counts
- Enough hardware literacy to read a schematic and flag problems early
- Comfortable working with AI day to day — we use it across the team
Details:
- Location: Australia, remote or hybrid out of the Sunshine Coast
- Engagement: short-term contract, starting around mid-September
- Experience level: mid to senior — scope and autonomy will match your experience
If this sounds like you, or you know someone who fits, send me a message with a quick note on your relevant experience and your rates. #EmbeddedSystems #Firmware #IoT #LoRaWAN #ESP32 #STM32 #Australia #Hiring
