- Support all stages of emergency management in Bass Coast
- Full-time fixed term (2 years), reducing to 0.8FTE (4 days per week) ongoing
- $41.28 per hour plus superannuation | Wonthaggi

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an Emergency Management Officer to join us in this exciting and varied role on a full-time basis for 2 years and 0.8 FTE thereafter. It will see you working across all stages of emergency management; from prevention and preparedness, to relief and recovery activities.

Reporting to the Team Leader Emergency Management and Resilience, the Emergency Management Officer is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation and review of Bass Coast Shire Council’s emergency management and fire management responsibilities in partnership with other emergency agencies and community organisations. Responsibilities of the role include:

- Lead and promote emergency planning and preparedness across Council and the community.
- Build partnerships to enhance community resilience and deliver safety education programs.
- Monitor and implement fire prevention activities and issue permits under relevant legislation.
- Act in key emergency management roles during incidents and provide coordination support.

This role requires strong working relationships to be maintained with the community, emergency service organisations, and relief and recovery providers.

A BIT ABOUT YOU:

You will have a sound understanding of emergency management and community resilience policies. Experience working in the emergency management field or tertiary qualification in emergency management will be highly regarded.
