We are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to provide hands-on environmental support on a major Solar & BESS project.
Working closely with project and site teams, you’ll drive environmental compliance, manage risks, support incident investigations and promote high environmental standards throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Environmental Management Plans, permits, approvals and environmental controls.
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits and monitoring across active project sites.
- Provide practical environmental advice to construction and delivery teams.
- Monitor compliance with environmental legislation, approval conditions and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Identify environmental risks and ensure appropriate controls and corrective actions are implemented.
- Support environmental incident investigations, reporting and close-out.
- Assist with environmental risk assessments, aspect and impact registers and SWMS.
- Manage and respond to unexpected environmental finds in accordance with project procedures.
- Deliver environmental inductions, toolbox talks and awareness initiatives.
- Maintain accurate environmental records and reporting documentation.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, regulators, consultants, landholders and subcontractors.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives across projects.

About You We are looking for an environmental professional with experience in renewable energy or heavy infrastructure environments.
You will ideally have
- Experience in an Environmental Advisor or similar environmental role.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, approvals and environmental management systems.
- Site-based experience conducting inspections, monitoring and environmental risk assessments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A practical, proactive approach to environmental compliance and risk management.
- Relevant qualifications in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Ecology, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Construction Induction (White Card) and an open Driver’s Licence.
- The ability to meet site-based medical and fitness requirements.
- Full working rights in Australia and/or New Zealand.
