The Role
As a Security Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing cost estimates and proposals for electronic security systems across a variety of project types. You’ll work closely with suppliers and stakeholders to source accurate pricing and develop tailored solutions that meet project and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver clear, accurate quotations, tenders, and variations
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain system and equipment pricing
- Support the sales and project teams with technical input and cost breakdowns
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners
- Contribute to continuous improvement in the estimating process and solution design
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience estimating electronic security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control, alarms) in commercial and government environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data validation for cost modelling and reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scope documents to produce accurate and competitive estimates.
- High accuracy in identifying materials, labour, and subcontractor costs even when technical input is incomplete.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with project managers, technicians, and clients.
- Prior experience estimating electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms)
- Experience using estimating software and tools
