Events Coordinator
Company: LawUno
Location: Sydney
Employment: Full-time
About LawUno
LawUno is The One Legal Network — a growing professional platform built exclusively for the legal industry.
We bring together lawyers, law students, law firms and the wider legal ecosystem through professional networking, communities, events, CPD, career opportunities and industry initiatives.
As the LawUno community continues to grow, events will play an increasingly important role in bringing our online network together in the real world.
We're looking for an energetic, highly organised and hands-on Events Coordinator to help us make that happen.
The Opportunity
This is not a role where you'll simply assist with events from the sidelines.
You'll be involved in the full event lifecycle — from coming up with ideas and securing venues through to registrations, speakers, partners, on-the-day delivery and post-event follow-up.
Our events range from smaller community initiatives and networking events through to CPD seminars, industry panels and major awards.
You'll work closely with the Founder and broader LawUno team and have the opportunity to take increasing ownership of our events calendar as the business grows.
What You'll Be Doing
Event Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate LawUno events from concept through to delivery
- Manage event timelines, checklists and run sheets
- Source and coordinate venues, catering and suppliers
- Manage event registrations and attendee lists
- Coordinate event logistics and on-the-day requirements
- Attend LawUno events and ensure they run smoothly
- Manage post-event follow-up and feedback
- Maintain the LawUno events calendar
Speakers & Panellists
- Coordinate speakers, moderators and panellists
- Manage speaker communications and briefing information
- Collect biographies, headshots and presentation materials
- Coordinate arrival times, AV requirements and event schedules
- Ensure speakers have everything they need before and during events
Partnerships & Sponsors
- Assist with the coordination of event sponsors and partners
- Ensure agreed sponsorship inclusions are delivered
- Coordinate partner branding and event collateral
- Maintain strong communication with partners before and after events
- Assist with identifying potential event and community partners
CPD & Professional Events
- Help coordinate LawUno's calendar of CPD seminars and panels
- Work with speakers and the team to organise relevant topics
- Coordinate registrations and attendee communications
- Assist with CPD administration and event requirements
- Help identify topical issues and speakers relevant to the legal profession
Community Events
You'll help grow LawUno's calendar of community-led initiatives, including networking events, Walk & Talks, LawUno Circles and other opportunities to bring members together.
We want someone who will also bring new ideas to the table.
If you see an event format, partnership or community initiative that you think LawUno should be running, we want to hear it.
Awards & Major Events
You'll also support the delivery of LawUno's larger industry initiatives and awards.
This may include
- Nominee and finalist communications
- Guest and attendee management
- Sponsors and partners
- Venue and supplier coordination
- Event collateral
- Run sheets
- Presenters and speakers
- On-the-night logistics
- Post-event communications
Marketing & Content Coordination
You'll work closely with the marketing team to make sure our events are seen.
This includes
- Providing event information for social media and EDM campaigns
- Coordinating event photography and video
- Capturing content during events
- Helping promote upcoming events
- Supporting post-event content and recaps
- Ensuring event pages and information remain accurate and up to date
Who We're Looking For
We're open to someone relatively early in their events career who is ready for more responsibility.
You may already be an Events Coordinator, Events Assistant, Marketing Coordinator, Community Coordinator or working in hospitality or professional services and looking to move into events.
More important than your title is how you operate.
You'll be someone who
- Is exceptionally organised
- Has strong attention to detail
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do
- Is confident communicating with people
- Presents professionally
- Can comfortably engage with senior professionals
- Is a strong written and verbal communicator
- Can manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously
- Remains calm when things change at the last minute
- Enjoys being around people
- Is comfortable working in a fast-moving business
- Is willing to roll up their sleeves and help wherever required
- Has ideas and isn't afraid to suggest them
Experience within events, hospitality, marketing, skilled services or community engagement would be advantageous.
Experience within the legal industry is not required.
What Success Looks Like
Within this role, we want you to progressively take ownership of LawUno's events function.
Success means
- Events are organised professionally and run smoothly
- Speakers, attendees and partners have an excellent experience
- Events are well attended
- Our events calendar is planned ahead rather than organised reactively
- Partners and sponsors want to work with us again
- Members continue coming back to LawUno events
- New event concepts are continually being developed
- Our events strengthen the LawUno community
Why Join LawUno?
LawUno is still growing, which means this role offers something different from joining an established events department.
You'll have the opportunity to help build the function.
You'll work directly with the leadership team, meet people from across the legal profession and be given genuine responsibility early.
As LawUno grows across Australia and internationally, there will be an opportunity for the role to grow with it.
For the right person, the natural progression could be towards an Events & Community Manager position with broader responsibility for LawUno's events, partnerships and member community.
The Person We're Looking For
Ultimately, we're looking for an all-rounder.
Someone organised enough to build a run sheet, confident enough to speak with a senior partner, creative enough to come up with the next event idea and hands-on enough to make sure everything is ready when the doors open.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
Join LawUno and help us bring the legal profession together — online and in person.
