Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation (Laynha) is looking for an organised, proactive and highly professional Executive Support Officer to work alongside our CEO and Board of Directors.
You’ll be at the centre of the organisation, providing administrative support while ensuring our Board and governance processes run smoothly, our statutory obligations are met, and our leaders have everything they need to make informed decisions.
If you’re someone who thrives on organisation, enjoys working with senior leaders, and takes pride in delivering work of the highest standard, we’d love to hear from you.
About Us For more than 40 years, Laynhapuy Homelands Aboriginal Corporation has supported Yolŋu people living across approximately 30 homelands in East Arnhem Land. We deliver essential services including primary health care, aged care, housing, municipal and essential services, employment programs and environmental management, working in genuine partnership with homeland communities to support self-determination and strong futures.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll provide trusted executive and governance support across the organisation. Your days will be varied and may include:
- Supporting the CEO with executive administration and correspondence.
- Preparing professional reports, presentations and business documents.
- Coordinating Board and Committee meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes and governance records.
- Managing governance registers and ensuring compliance with the CATSI Act and ORIC requirements.
- Coordinating statutory reporting and governance training for Directors.
- Liaising with Board Directors, Executive leaders, auditors, regulators and external stakeholders.
- Supporting organisational projects and maintaining accurate corporate records.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex work, can confidently manage competing priorities, and understands the importance of discretion, professionalism and strong governance.
About You
You’ll bring
- Experience providing executive support to a CEO, Executive Team or Board.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High-level written communication and attention to detail.
- Experience preparing agendas, minutes and professional documentation.
- The ability to manage confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the confidence to work with people at all levels.
- An understanding of corporate governance or a willingness to learn.
- A genuine appreciation for working alongside Aboriginal communities and supporting a values-driven organisation.
Experience working with Indigenous organisations or knowledge of the CATSI Act is highly regarded but not essential.
Flexible Working
We recognise that great candidates don’t always fit into a standard full-time schedule. This role is available on either a part time or full-time basis, with flexibility around working hours to accommodate Board and Committee meeting schedules. Whether you’re looking for reduced hours or a full-time opportunity, we’re open to discussing an arrangement that works for both you and Laynha.
