Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Family Lawyer role ( 3 years post-admission experience and above with room for Associate, Senior Associate and Special Counsel) based on the Gold Coast and Brisbane CBD.
The Family
Lawyer will manage a diverse caseload involving family, relationship and de facto matters, including property settlements, parenting disputes and related issues. Day-to-day work will include advising clients, preparing and reviewing court documents and correspondence, drafting agreements and consent orders, and representing clients in negotiations and court proceedings.
The role will also involve active participation in alternate dispute resolution processes such as mediation, arbitration and collaborative practice, as appropriate to each matter.
The Family
Lawyer will work closely with colleagues to develop strategies, contribute to firm knowledge-sharing, and maintain high professional and ethical standards in client service.
Qualifications
- Admitted as a solicitor in Australia with not less than 3 years post-admission experience in family law.
- Strong experience in family, relationship and domestic violence including property settlements, parenting matters and associated financial issues.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, mediation and other forms of alternate dispute resolution, with an interest in collaborative law and arbitration.
- Proficiency in legal research, drafting clear and precise court documents, settlement agreements and client correspondence.
- Sound knowledge of court procedures and family law legislation, with the ability to manage files independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in accessible terms to clients.
- Robust client service orientation, professional judgment and the ability to work respectfully with individuals and families in sensitive situations.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment, contribute to firm initiatives and uphold high ethical and professional standards.
