The Girls u0026 Boys Brigade

Sydney

Company Description The Girls & Boys Brigade empowers children, youth, and their families to build strong foundations for a bright future. Since 1882, the organization has provided a welcoming, safe place for children and youth aged 5–18 who are in need, offering free educational and recreational programs. These programs focus on developing life skills, helping families overcome challenges, and opening access to recent opportunities.

Support begins in primary school and continues through the end of high school, using early intervention and a holistic service model to respond quickly to changing needs. The ultimate goal is to nurture thriving young adults and capable families while helping them deal positively with life’s challenges and grow in confidence and capability.

Role Description The Family Support Coordinator is a full-time role based in Surry Hills, NSW, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. The role involves providing family-focused support to children, youth, and their carers through regular contact, needs assessment, and strengths-based case management. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating referrals to internal programs and external services, facilitating access to community resources, and helping families develop practical strategies to manage challenges.

The Family Support

Coordinator will collaborate closely with program staff to ensure consistent communication, participate in meetings and outreach activities, and maintain accurate records and documentation. The role also includes contributing to program development, monitoring outcomes, and promoting a safe, inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and experiences.

- Commitment to child safety, inclusive practice, and continuous professional development; experience in the not-for-profit or community sector is beneficial.
