We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Female Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred support to individuals living with disability across Huonville, New Norfolk, and Hobart. The successful candidate will assist participants to achieve their goals, maintain independence, and actively engage in their local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care support, including assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support participants with daily living activities and household tasks.
- Assist with meal preparation and medication prompts as required.
- Facilitate community access, social outings, appointments, and recreational activities.
- Support participants in developing life skills and promoting independence.
- Maintain accurate records and complete progress notes.
- Follow individual support plans and ensure participant dignity, choice, and privacy.
- Adhere to NDIS Practice Standards, workplace policies, and safety procedures.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with participants, families, and allied health professionals.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or relevant qualification (preferred).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Tasmania).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work adaptable shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays if required.
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, or mental health conditions.
- Manual handling experience.
- Medication administration training.
- Knowledge of NDIS principles and participant-centred support.
