About the Role

- Full-time, ongoing
- Located in Albury NSW
- Attractive Salary: From $145,000 to $154,000 (depending on skills/experience) plus 12% superannuation

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller will proactively lead the finance function and oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, compliance and finance systems. This role suits a commercially minded and engaging finance leader who can provide clear insights, direction and support informed business decisions. There is also opportunity to develop towards a future CFO role.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide strategic financial support to executive decision-making, investment prioritisation and long-term business planning.
- Leverage AI-enabled and generative reporting tools to improve reporting efficiency, scenario analysis, trend identification and the quality of business insights.
- Support strategic risk assessment by identifying financial,



commercial and operational trends that may impact performance, governance or growth opportunities.
- Lead finance systems, process improvement and the day to day support of the finance team.
- Translate financial results into meaningful business insights by leading timely monthly reporting, variance analysis and performance commentary that drives performance.
- Shape the organisation’s financial outlook by leading budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and planning processes that support confident decision-making and future growth.
- Strengthen the financial foundations of the business by maintaining robust controls, approval processes and governance practices that protect performance and accountability.
- Guide critical reporting and compliance milestones, including month end, year-end, audit and statutory obligations, with accuracy, discipline and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Partner with operational teams to provide practical financial insight and advice.

About You

- Effective communicator and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
- Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to be hands-on, support others and contribute to a cohesive finance team.
- Solid technical skills, including experience in ERP systems, high level excel capability, finance reporting tools and emerging technologies, with practical exposure to AI tools that support reporting, analysis or process improvement.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a senior finance, financial control,



accounting or commercial finance role.
- Must hold a CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline are highly regarded.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, governance and risk management capability.
- Demonstrated capability and interest in career progression into a CFO role.
- Willingness to question the norm, challenge existing processes constructively and instigate practical improvements where they add value.
- Defence, multi entity, project based or operationally complex business experience is highly regarded.
- Australian citizenship, with the ability to obtain a baseline security clearance and pass a National Criminal History Check.
