Financial Controller - Construction

Salary: $190,000 package (inc super)

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a well-established construction business in a key leadership position within the finance function.

This is a technically focused, hands-on Financial Controller role, responsible for the core financial accounting and reporting function. We are open to two profiles for the position, an experienced Financial Controller looking for their next challenge, or a strong Finance Manager who is ready to take the next step into their first Controller role.

The Role

Reporting into the senior finance leadership team, you will be responsible for:

- Leading the month-end and year-end financial reporting process
- Financial accounting and statutory reporting
- Managing the external audit process and relationships with auditors
- Ensuring strong financial controls, governance and compliance
- Overseeing balance sheet integrity and reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation of financial statements
- Providing technical accounting advice across the business
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across finance and the broader organisation




- Leading and developing members of the finance team (x1 direct report)

About You We are open to candidates from a broad range of construction backgrounds and company sizes. Whether you have worked for a large Tier 1 contractor, a mid-tier construction business or a smaller specialist contractor, your technical accounting experience will be key.

- An experienced Financial Controller looking for your next challenge
- A Finance Manager ready to step up into your first Financial Controller position
- A technically strong Senior Finance Manager with the capability and ambition to take on a Controller role

You will ideally have robust experience across financial accounting, statutory reporting, month-end, year-end and audit, combined with excellent attention to detail and the ability to operate in a hands-on environment.
