About the role

As a Fire Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring fire safety systems are properly installed, maintained, and serviced to protect lives and property.

You will be responsible for the routine inspection, testing, installation, and maintenance of portable and fixed fire protection equipment and systems to ensure maximum operational readiness and full compliance with Australian Standards, building codes, and relevant statutory regulations. This role is critical to client safety, business reputation, and regulatory compliance.

- Key responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test and maintain fire detection and suppression systems including sprinkler systems, fire alarms and extinguishers
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on fire safety equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulations




- Conduct thorough inspections of fire safety systems and provide detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty fire safety equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
- Carry out system upgrades and modifications in accordance with client requirements and Australian fire safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of all service visits, maintenance activities and system certifications
- Respond to client queries and provide technical support regarding fire safety systems
- Work safely in office whilst adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and company protocols
- Liaise with clients to ensure their fire safety needs are met and exceeded

What we're looking for

- A recognised qualification in fire safety systems installation and maintenance or equivalent vocational training
- Proven experience working as a Fire Technician or in a similar fire safety role within the trades and services sector
- Sound knowledge of Australian fire safety standards, codes and regulations including AS 1851 and AS 4671
- Competency in testing and commissioning fire detection and suppression systems
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex fire safety system schematics and technical documentation




- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills with attention to detail
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various client sites across the Mandurah region
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer service
- Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards
- Physical fitness to undertake climbing, lifting and working at heights where required
- Preferred experience with specific fire safety system brands and software platforms
