About the Role For more than 50 years, Kypreos Group has helped deliver essential road infrastructure across Current South Wales. We are now looking for a skilled and safety-focused Fitter & Machinist to join our Facilities Division, supporting asphalt manufacturing facilities across multiple locations in Sydney Metro and the South Coast.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will maintain, repair and improve critical plant and equipment - helping keep our facilities operating safely, reliably and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with preventative and breakdown maintenance on asphalt manufacturing plant/facility equipment.
- Repair and replace mechanical components including bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors, screens, valves, and drive systems.
- Use workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Support shutdowns, inspections, fault finding, and facility improvement projects.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Complete maintenance records, job sheets, and risk assessments as required.
- Participate in stock management and workshop housekeeping activities.
- Follow all company safety procedures, permit systems, and environmental requirements.




- Work collaboratively with operators, contractors, and other maintenance personnel to minimise production downtime.

Skills and Experience

Essential

- Successful completion of Mechanical Fitter & Machinist apprenticeship.
- Experience in a manufacturing, quarrying, asphalt, mining, construction materials, or a heavy industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance principles.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Current driver's licence.

Desirable but not essential

- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience with conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, hydraulic systems, and rotating equipment.
- Forklift, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Working at Heights, or Confined Space tickets.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
