As our Food Safety Assurance portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking experienced Freshcare and/or HARPS Auditors to join us on a contract basis and support our expanding client base across the produce sector.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for self-employed, qualified Food Safety Auditors to partner with a leading assurance provider and conduct audits across retail suppliers within the fresh produce industry (fruit & vegetables).

You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, driving best practice, and supporting clients in maintaining high standards of food safety and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and conduct process and product audits in line with client protocols and service level agreements
- Deliver high-quality, detailed audit reports aligned to KPIs and compliance standards
- Assess risk, product integrity, and process control across client operations
- Provide insights on operational improvements and industry best practice




- Maintain strong client relationships and communication throughout the audit lifecycle
- Ensure alignment with regulatory and certification requirements

About You

- Certified Food Safety Auditor with Freshcare and/or HARPS accreditation
- Robust, hands-on experience within the fresh produce sector (fruit & vegetables)
- Background in food technology, agriculture, microbiology or related discipline
- Solid understanding of:
- HACCP-based food safety systems
- GMP and quality management principles
- Verification, validation, and compliance frameworks
- Ability to interpret data, trends, and operational performance metrics
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to think strategically at a business level
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
