Our main operation centre is situated in the Latrobe Valley; with an additional Engineering and Service centre in Keysborough. We offer Mechanical and Fluid Power Solutions for our diverse market, providing sales, service, and maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic systems since 1968. Our client base covers mining, oil and gas, power, pulp and paper, agriculture, and the transport sector. We are also Australia’s leading distributor for Triple R Oil filtration and privately owned family business.
The Role
We are currently seeking a reliable, motivated and recently graduated mechanical or mechatronic engineer who would like to build a career in Fluid Power. The position would suit a dynamic person who enjoys being hands-on in the workshop, technical applications and customer service. Over time, you will be provided with training, mentoring and exposure to projects and field service in order to develop your skills and knowledge to independently undertake activities such as:
- Scoping job and project requirements
- Developing detailed quotations and project proposals
- Reviewing technical drawings and documents
- Drafting and designing new systems and system upgrades
- Project management
- Programming control systems
- Liaising with clients from initial enquiry to commissioning and handover
- Be a technical resource to the service team.
- Assist with internal sales and warehousing
- Assist the service team in the workshop and field servicing where required.
About you You will be a recent graduate or a student completing their final year of study.
The successful candidate will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage competing work priorities. You will be able demonstrate the ability to learn assemblies, processes and systems quickly with a desire to develop your professional skills.
Essential Requirements:
- Interest in working with your hands/on tools to enhance learning and knowledge.
- Completed, or near complete Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Interest in heat transfer and fluid dynamics
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in SolidWorks 3D modelling
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- A systems orientated approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
- Full Driver Licence
- Full working rights in Australia - no restrictions
Preferred experience (non-essential):
- Project management experience
- Exposure to AutoCAD or similar 2D drawing package
- Advanced MS Office user
- Forklift license highly desirable but not essential.
- Exposure to tools and equipment
