Gold Coast Glamour Photography is seeking an experienced Makeup Artist to join our studio team in a varied, client-focused role.

Hair and makeup are an important part of the position; however, this is a broader studio role that also involves client experience, bookings, studio support and photography sales.

We are looking for someone who is interested in developing their skills across these areas and contributing to the smooth operation of the studio.

ABOUT THE ROLE The successful applicant will work across a range of responsibilities depending on the needs of the studio and our clients.

Hair & Makeup

- Providing professional makeup services for photography sessions
- Providing basic professional hair styling
- Preparing clients for their photography session
- Maintaining a high standard of hygiene, presentation and organisation within the makeup area
- Helping clients feel comfortable and prepared for their experience

Client Experience
- Welcoming clients and providing professional and friendly customer service
- Building rapport with clients and responding appropriately to individual client needs
- Supporting clients throughout their studio experience
- Communicating professionally with clients in person, by phone and through written communication
- Maintaining client confidentiality and following studio privacy procedures

Photography & Studio Support
- Working collaboratively with photographers and other studio team members
- Assisting with styling, outfit changes and general session preparation where required
- Supporting the smooth operation of photography sessions
- Preparing and maintaining studio areas before and after sessions
- Assisting with general studio tasks as reasonably required within the position

Bookings & Administration
- Responding to client enquiries
- Assisting with bookings and scheduling
- Following up enquiries and existing clients




- Maintaining accurate client information
- Using the studio's booking, client management and administrative systems
- Following established studio procedures and processes

Photography Sales & Ordering
- Assisting with client image reveal and ordering appointments
- Presenting photography products and collections to clients
- Communicating information about products, services and pricing
- Assisting with bookings and sales enquiries
- Learning and following the studio's established sales process

Training will be provided on our studio systems, booking processes, client journey and photography sales procedures. ABOUT YOU To be successful in this position, you will have:

- Relevant makeup qualifications and/or demonstrated professional experience
- Experience applying makeup for photography or other professional client-facing environments
- Basic hair styling skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A professional approach to client service
- Good attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with other team members
- The ability to follow workplace procedures and directions
- Confidence communicating with clients about products, services and pricing
- The ability to learn recent systems and processes
- Reliability and a professional approach to work

Previous experience in photography, sales, bookings, customer service, beauty, hair styling or studio environments will be highly regarded. You do not need previous experience in every area of the role. Training will be provided where appropriate for the successful applicant.

This is not a standalone makeup position. While hair and makeup will be an important component of your work, the successful applicant will also contribute to the wider client journey and studio operation.

Depending on the day's requirements, your responsibilities may include:

Hair & Makeup → Client Experience → Photoshoot Support → Bookings → Administration → Image Reveals → Photography Sales → Studio Preparation
