The Role

Toll Recruit are seeking a proactive and safety-focused Yard Truck Driver / Preloader to support transport operations at a Major Hazard Facility (MHF) handling Dangerous Goods (DG).

This role plays a key part in preparing next-day deliveries by preloading and securing freight, ensuring drivers can depart promptly each morning with minimal delays.

You'll work closely with warehouse, transport and scheduling teams to ensure freight is prepared safely, accurately and efficiently for dispatch.

Start Time: 12pm - 8pm.

Pay Rate: $57.66 - $61.68

Key Duties

- Load and secure freight using a forklift onto delivery vehicles in line with load restraint guidelines and Dangerous Goods (DG) requirements.
- Operate a prime mover within the yard, including safely coupling and uncoupling trailers in accordance with site procedures.
- Complete occasional local deliveries as required.
- Complete loading records and ensure all required paperwork is prepared and ready for drivers.
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicles, freight and load restraints to ensure safety and compliance.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and site safety initiatives.
- Complete general storeperson and warehouse duties as directed by Warehouse Team Leaders when preloading is not required.
- Work under the direction of Warehouse Team Leaders, who will oversee floor activities and allocate tasks based on operational requirements.

What We're Looking For

- Current LF Forklift Licence or willing to obtain.
- Current HC or MC Driver's Licence.
- Previous experience in freight handling, load restraint and warehouse operations.
- Experience handling Dangerous Goods is highly regarded.
- Understanding of Major Hazard Facility (MHF) safety requirements, with training provided where required.

- Ability to work independently, follow instructions and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
