SUPERLUPO is an exciting new bakery and retail concept opening soon. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on and commercially minded Head Baker to lead our bakery operations across both premium retail and large-scale wholesale production.
This is a key leadership role for a skilled baker with strong management experience. You will lead and develop the SUPERLUPO production team, manage daily production across retail and wholesale operations, oversee product quality and consistency, and support the growth of the business.
Our sister company, Wonder Pies, operates a large-scale food production facility with a team of approximately 50 employees and manages a significant volume of wholesale customer orders. The Head Baker will work closely with the Wonder Pies production and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, train and develop the bakery production team
- Oversee daily retail bakery production for SUPERLUPO
- Manage high-volume wholesale bakery production and customer orders
- Plan and manage daily and weekly production schedules and volumes
- Ensure retail and wholesale products are produced accurately, efficiently and on time
- Maintain high standards of product quality, consistency and presentation
- Work closely with the Second in Charge and Wholesale Baker to coordinate production
- Develop current bakery products and improve the current SUPERLUPO menu
- Create practical recipes that can be consistently produced and scaled
- Review production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Develop smoother workflows and reduce production bottlenecks and waste
- Support production planning, forecasting, stock management and operational reporting
- Maintain strong food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards
About You
You will have
- Experience as a Head Baker, Bakery Manager, Production Manager or Senior Baker
- Proven experience leading and developing bakery production teams
- Strong people management, communication and leadership skills
- Experience managing both retail bakery and high-volume wholesale production
- Experience planning and managing large production volumes and customer orders
- Strong technical knowledge of bread production, sourdough, fermentation and baking
- Experience managing production schedules, production volumes and team productivity
- Experience developing new products and improving existing recipes
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example
- A strong focus on quality, consistency, efficiency and continuous improvement
Experience in a large-scale food manufacturing or wholesale bakery environment will be highly regarded. Why Join Us?
