Pure Source Recruitment is proud to be partnering with The Industry School to recruit an experienced Head of Business Services to lead a diverse operational portfolio across finance, payroll, facilities and business services within a growing, multi-campus educational organisation.

This is a rare leadership prospect for an experienced finance or business services professional who enjoys operating beyond the numbers. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Infrastructure, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple business functions, ensuring the organisation's financial operations, business services and facilities continue to support sustainable growth and organisational excellence. This role is due to an internal secondment and will be an 18 month fixed term contract.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, you'll play a pivotal role in leading business services through an exciting period of organisational growth, ERP implementation and campus expansion, while developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead the Finance, Payroll, Facilities and Business Services functions, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across multiple campuses.
- Work closely with the Director of Finance & Infrastructure to translate strategic priorities into operational plans, business improvements and measurable outcomes.
- Provide leadership and oversight of finance operations, including financial reporting, budgeting support, forecasting, month-end processes, financial controls and governance.
- Lead and support the organisation's Business Services Managers through a collaborative community of practice, driving consistency, capability and operational excellence across campuses.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of the organisation's new ERP platform, including process redesign, testing, change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee operational facilities management,



working alongside the Facilities Manager to support campus expansions, refurbishments, site acquisitions and ongoing maintenance planning.
- Develop, coach and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration, accountability and professional growth.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems, reporting and service delivery across the organisation.
- Ensure robust financial controls, payroll governance, procurement practices, compliance and risk management frameworks are maintained across the portfolio.

Required Experience

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline (CA or CPA is highly regarded but not essential)
- Strong financial management capability, including budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting and operational financial controls.
- Experience implementing or supporting ERP systems, business transformation or large-scale process improvement initiatives.
- The ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable leading day-to-day operational delivery.
- A collaborative leadership style with high levels of integrity, accountability, curiosity and emotional intelligence.
