District (NSLHD) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Occupational Therapist to lead, develop and enhance Occupational Therapy (OT) services delivered from the Mona Vale Hospital OT Department. Where you'll be working
Dynamic leadership is a must as your highly functioning department operates across several sites, including Mona Vale Hospital and Community Health Centre, Brookvale Community Health Centre, and Manly’s Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice.
What you'll be doing
As the Occupational Therapist Level 6, you will:
Lead, develop, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy services within all units within the Mona Vale Hospital OT department.
Manage and support 20 headcount of occupational therapy, allied health assistant and administrative staff, including clinical supervision, performance management, and professional development.
Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance in the management of patients with complex needs.
Drive service innovation, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
Participate in strategic planning and service development initiatives, aligned with NSLHD’s strategic goals.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, research, and excellence in clinical practice.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to improve care coordination and patient outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced Occupational Therapist with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence service delivery.
You thrive in complex healthcare environments and are passionate about developing people, improving systems,
and delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
To be successful, you will have:
Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist, including leadership and management responsibilities of a large department.
Proven experience supervising, mentoring and developing staff and students.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in quality improvement, program development and outcome measurement.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, particularly in leadership and management.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities.
The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
1. Registration with the Occupational Board, APHRA and previously demonstrated experience as a level 4 Occupational Therapist or above in management activities including staff/student supervision and development, quality improvement activities and program / service development.
2. Demonstrated commitment to further education, in particular in the management area.
3. Proven experience in initiation and development of quality improvement activities including outcome measures.
