D'Arcy Weil is recruiting a Head of Project Delivery — Grid-Scale Battery Storage on behalf of a major energy business. The role leads a large-scale battery energy storage project across the full delivery lifecycle, from concept, development and execution planning through procurement, construction, commissioning and operational transfer.

The role exists to take a complex, high-value battery storage project from early development through to completion, establishing the delivery strategy, building and leading a capable client-side project team, managing key contractor relationships and representing the project credibly across a broad range of stakeholders.

The Role

- Lead the project across the full lifecycle from concept and development through to operational handover
- Establish the delivery strategy, execution model, programme, project controls and governance framework
- Build and develop the client-side project team, establishing the structure and capability required for delivery
- Lead procurement, contracting and contractor strategy across major project packages
- Manage project progress, expenditure, risk and performance against approved plans
- Maintain accurate cost and schedule forecasts throughout the delivery cycle
- Establish and sustain key contractor, supplier and delivery partner relationships
- Provide senior leadership across construction, commissioning, grid connection and operational transfer




- Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Champion health, safety, security and environmental standards across the project

About You

- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline; project management or business qualifications advantageous
- 10+ years' experience in senior project leadership positions
- Proven delivery of large, complex capital projects across varied contract structures
- Experience leading grid-scale battery storage projects, including supply chain, installation, commissioning and grid connection
- Strong understanding of project development, procurement, contracting and construction delivery
- Demonstrated ability to establish and lead high-performing client-side project teams
- Strong commercial, contractual, risk and stakeholder management capability
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality excellence
