Position Information

Corowa High School is located in the Riverina approximately 56 km from Albury NSW. Our school is deeply connected to the local community and our school culture is one of inclusion and excellence with students, staff, parents and community strongly supporting the school's endeavours. Currently we have 305 students, 2% of whom are Aboriginal. Students are drawn from both Corowa and the surrounding rural areas. Corowa High School offers an extensive curriculum featuring a diverse range of subjects from Years 7 to 12. The school includes a support unit and Extension classes, which seek to further challenge and support all students. The school also has a long tradition of sporting excellence which is reflective of the interests and passion of the community it serves.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, the applicant must have:

- Proven leadership skills,



including the ability to lead, support, and develop a team of teachers effectively.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the capacity to manage resources and budgets efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, parents and the wider school community.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering high expectations of student participation and achievement, including the ability to promote and facilitate student engagement in competitive sports and extracurricular physical activities.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
