Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular visits to construction, project and operational job sites across client locations.
- Undertake site safety inspections, identify observations, audits and compliance reviews.
- Identify hazards, HSEQ risks and areas of non-compliance and provide practical advice on appropriate corrective actions.
- Engage directly with site supervisors, workers, contractors and management to promote safe work practices.
- Provide practical HSEQ advice and support to clients and their operational teams.
- Work under the guidance of the Senior HSEQ Advisor to deliver agreed client HSEQ requirements and scopes of work.
- Review site activities, work practices, SWMS and risk controls to assess their effectiveness and application in the field.
- Support incident and near-miss investigations, including site attendance where required.
- Monitor corrective actions and follow up on identified HSEQ issues.
- Participate in and support toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and site safety discussions.
- HSEQ reporting and maintaining accurate records of site visits, inspections,
findings and actions.
- Build positive working relationships with clients and site personnel while professionally representing our business.
We are looking for a practical, confident and adaptable HSEQ professional who is comfortable spending a significant amount of their time on construction and job sites and engaging directly with people at all levels.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as an HSEQ Advisor, WHS Advisor, Safety Advisor or similar.
- Experience working within construction, civil, trade or other operational/site-based environments.
- Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and HSEQ principles.
- Strong practical knowledge of site safety, hazard identification and risk management.
- Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Confidence engaging with site supervisors, workers, contractors and client representatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently across different client sites while remaining supported by the Senior HSEQ Advisor.
- Relevant WHS/HSEQ qualifications.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to client job sites as required.
Position Details
- Temporary / part-time position
- Approximately 3 days per week
- Predominantly client-facing and site-based HSEQ advisory work
- Regular travel to construction and job sites
- Reporting to the Senior HSEQ Advisor
- Exposure to a variety of clients, projects and working environments
This prospect would suit an experienced HSEQ professional looking for flexible work who enjoys being out on site, working directly with operational teams and providing practical safety advice, rather than being primarily office-based.
