Senior WHS Advisor / Consultant

We're looking for a Senior WHS Advisor / Consultant to join our team and play a central role in that work.

A different kind of WHS role

This is not a site-based role, and it isn't an implementation role. You won't be embedded on a single project managing the day-to-day rollout of someone else's system. This is a systems design role, you'll be the one architecting the Safety Management Systems, frameworks and solutions our clients rely on. You'll sit at the front end of the thinking, designing what good looks like and then handing clients a system built to work in their world.

And because you'll do this across a wide range of clients and industries, no two weeks look the same. Your expertise compounds quickly, your advice genuinely shapes outcomes, and you'll see the difference your work makes across multiple organisations rather than a single site. For the right consultant, that's the appeal: the intellectual challenge of designing safety systems from the ground up, rather than administering or maintaining them.

The opportunity

As a Senior WHS Advisor / Consultant, you will:

- Partner with a diverse range of clients to identify, design and deliver WHS solutions that improve safety performance and compliance
- Design, develop and review practical WHS management systems, frameworks, procedures and documentation
- Facilitate risk assessments, inspections, audits and workshops
- Deliver WHS training and coaching to leaders and employees




- Lead or support incident investigations and corrective action programs
- Act as a trusted advisor to client leadership teams
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of WCA's consulting methodologies, tools and resources

What you'll bring You are a WHS professional who:

- Enjoys facilitating risk assessments, workshops and WHS training
- Has experience designing and reviewing Safety Management Systems
- Understands how to translate legislation and compliance requirements into practical workplace solutions
- Has meaningful incident investigation, stakeholder engagement and reporting experience
- Enjoys building relationships and becoming a trusted advisor to clients
- Wants to expand their expertise by working across multiple industries and organisational environments
- Thrives in a consulting environment where no two days are the same

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in WHS/OHS preferable. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in a related discipline plus a Certificate IV or Diploma in WHS
- Minimum of 4+ years' experience as a WHS Generalist
- Solid knowledge and working experience of the WHS Act
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including providing advice to managers and employees and preparing reports for target audiences
- Incident investigation training (ICAM, TapRooT or similar qualification, desirable)
- Demonstrated experience developing practical WHS systems and procedures
