About the Role

Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a reliable and experienced Heavy Rigid Delivery Driver to join our growing logistics team in Launceston.

This is a hands-on role delivering furniture and general freight to residential and commercial customers throughout the Launceston district and surrounding areas. You will work autonomously while maintaining the high standards of safety, service and professionalism our customers expect.

A truck will be provided on a rotational basis. Freight arriving from Hobart will be transferred to you for local deliveries, after which you will load the truck with freight for its return journey to Hobart.

This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday position offering weekly pay and an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely and efficiently operate an allocated Heavy Rigid vehicle.
- Complete required pre-start, vehicle-defect and load-restraint checks.
- Load, secure, transport and unload furniture and general freight safely.
- Complete multiple deliveries in accordance with daily schedules, customer requirements and business priorities.
- Protect freight, vehicles, equipment and customer property from damage.
- Obtain accurate proof of delivery and complete all required operational records.
- Communicate professionally with customers, site contacts and team members.
- Report delays, defects, damage, hazards and incidents promptly.
- Follow applicable road laws, fatigue requirements, company procedures and customer-site rules.
- Stop work and seek direction where a safety risk or operational issue cannot be resolved within the role’s authority.
- Leave the allocated vehicle clean, secure and ready for its next journey.

Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this position, you must have:

- A current Heavy Rigid driver’s licence appropriate for the allocated vehicle.
- A safe driving record and the ability to satisfy the company’s licence and competency-verification requirements.
- Previous truck-driving and delivery experience.
- The physical capacity to undertake frequent manual handling, with reasonable adjustments considered where applicable.
- The ability to complete delivery records and use basic computer applications.
- A current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or ability to acquire one.
