About Yilgarn Iron

Yilgarn Iron is a Western Australian mine owner and operator with an established iron ore operation in the Yilgarn region and a corporate office in West Perth.

Having acquired the Yilgarn Hub in 2025, the business is now establishing its next phase as an independent mine owner and operator.

Mining at Koolyanobbing has been successfully restarted and is in full production, with additional pits being brought online as Yilgarn continues to develop the operation. Parker Range forms part of this next phase, providing additional ore sources to complement the existing operation and assist with maintaining consistency of product grade.

With new mining areas opening and the business continuing to build its internal capability, it's an interesting time to join Yilgarn Iron and take a senior leadership position within the organisation.

About the Role

Based from the West Perth corporate office, the HSE Manager is the most senior HSE position within Yilgarn Iron and will have responsibility for the function across both corporate and operational environments.

Reporting directly to the EGM Services, you'll have direct exposure to the Executive Leadership Team and work closely with the Mining General Manager, Mine Managers and operational leaders across the business.

The role will include:

- Developing and maintaining HSE strategies, frameworks and management systems
- Providing leadership across critical risk management, audits and assurance
- Working with operational leaders to continue developing safety culture and HSE performance




- Maintaining compliance with WA mining HSE legislation and regulatory requirements
- Overseeing incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and organisational learning
- Providing oversight of environmental compliance, approvals and rehabilitation obligations
- Establishing and monitoring HSE expectations across contractors and service providers
- Monitoring HSE performance, trends and leading indicators
- Providing HSE reporting and advice to senior leadership and the Board
- Engaging with regulators and managing audits and inspections

While there is naturally a strong governance component to the position, this isn't intended to be an HSE function that operates at arm's length from site. You'll need to understand the operation, build credibility with the people running it and ensure HSE systems and standards work effectively in practice.

Experience Needed

We're looking for an experienced mining HSE leader with presence, credibility and sound judgement.

You'll need to understand the realities of operating a mine and be able to work effectively across both corporate and site environments. Technical capability matters,



but so does how you operate — we're looking for someone practical and approachable who can build credibility from the workforce through to senior leadership.

Importantly, you'll have the confidence to hold your ground when required and deal with difficult issues when they arise, without becoming confrontational or losing the engagement of the people around you.

In terms of background, we're looking for:

- Extensive HSE leadership experience within the mining or resources sector
- Experience across both corporate and remote site operations
- Strong working knowledge of WA mining HSE legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated experience across critical risk management, assurance and incident investigation
- Experience with HSE management systems aligned to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Experience across environmental approvals, compliance reporting and rehabilitation planning
- A relevant tertiary qualification together with formal HSE qualifications
- Experience within a mine owner/operator environment will be highly regarded, as will direct experience managing contractor HSE performance and engaging with regulators through audits and inspections.
