HVACR Technician – Defence & Marine

Location: Potts Point / Eastern Suburbs, NSW Salary: $52.50 – $62.50 per hour + Super + Overtime

About the Role

An exciting prospect is available for qualified HVACR Technicians to join a specialist mechanical and refrigeration team working across Defence and marine environments in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. This is a predominantly static-site position, offering something different from the typical commercial service role where you're travelling between multiple sites each day.

You'll work across a variety of Defence and commercial marine vessels, gaining exposure to everything from HVAC and refrigeration systems through to large refrigeration plants, cool rooms, cold rooms and chillers.

There is significant overtime available, alongside opportunities for interstate travel and occasional offshore work.

The business is looking to make multiple hires and is open to both experienced qualified technicians and motivated 3rd Year Apprentices.

Key Responsibilities

- Service, maintain and install marine HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Work on large refrigeration plants, cool rooms and cold rooms
- Service and maintain screw, centrifugal and reciprocating chillers
- Diagnose faults across HVAC, refrigeration and control systems
- Carry out preventative maintenance
- Complete commissioning and system upgrades
- Work across Defence and commercial marine environments
- Maintain strict safety and compliance standards
- Complete service documentation and reporting
- Liaise with supervisors, project managers and clients




- Support interstate and offshore projects where required

About You

For qualified positions, you'll ideally have:
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
- Full ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
- Strong HVAC and refrigeration fault-finding skills
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- White Card
- Ability to obtain access to secure Defence sites
- Ability to obtain the required Police Check clearance
- Strong attitude towards safety and compliance

Previous Defence or marine experience is highly regarded but is not essential. Applications are also welcomed from motivated 3rd Year Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Apprentices looking to develop their experience within a specialist HVACR environment.
