Role Description The Identity & Access Management (IAM) Specialist will support secure access to the UDT Lab’s digital platforms, data, and applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing user accounts and roles, enforcing access policies, monitoring authentication and authorization systems, and responding to access-related incidents.

The specialist will collaborate with researchers, developers, and IT staff to implement best practices for identity lifecycle management, role-based access control, and compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements. This is a part-time remote role, requiring proactive communication and reliable coordination with the lab team.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in identity and access management, including user provisioning, deprovisioning, role-based access control, and policy enforcement.
- Candidates should possess skills in authentication and authorization technologies, such as SSO, MFA, OAuth, SAML, and directory services (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP).




- Candidates should possess skills in information security, including security best practices, incident response, risk assessment, and compliance with data protection standards.
- Candidates should possess skills in system administration and integration, including working with cloud platforms, APIs, and application lifecycle management.
- Candidates should possess robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to document processes, troubleshoot access issues, and propose improvements.
- Relevant academic background in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field; current enrollment or degree is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in higher education, research environments, or smart city/urban planning projects is beneficial but not required.
