Westvic Staffing Solutions, in partnership with Frankston City Council, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic trainee to join the IT Operations Support team.

This full-time, 12-month traineeship offers the opportunity to earn while you learn, complete a Certificate III in Information Technology and gain hands-on experience within a professional ICT environment. Through Frankston City Council's Work Ready Program, you'll receive on-the-job training, mentoring and support while developing job-ready skills.

About the Role

As part of the IT Operations Support team, you will support Council staff while gaining experience across a range of technology services.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing Level 1 Helpdesk support via phone, email and in person.

- Logging and resolving service requests and incidents.

- Assisting with the setup and support of computers, mobile devices and peripherals.

- Supporting Microsoft 365 and Active Directory administration.

- Maintaining IT assets and technical documentation.

- Troubleshooting hardware, software and basic networking issues.

- Assisting with IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Delivering excellent customer service to Council staff.





We are looking for someone who:

- Has a genuine interest in technology and a career in IT.

- Is eager to learn and develop current skills.

- Has strong communication and customer service skills.

- Enjoys solving problems and pays attention to detail.

- Works well independently and as part of a team.

- Is reliable, organised and takes initiative.

- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check, or willingness to obtain both.

Eligibility

Applicants must reside within the Frankston City municipality and meet at least one of the following criteria:

- Living with disability

- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

- Experiencing difficulty securing suitable employment

- Experiencing personal, social or financial hardship

This traineeship is offered for approximately 12 months. Ongoing employment is not guaranteed upon completion.
