Description

Injury Management Coordinator

Berriedale, Tasmania

Permanent full-time, or part-time at four days per week

Salary: $95 - 105K super

Mona isn't your typical workplace. We operate with creative intensity across arts, events, music, hospitality, tourism, wine, and technology - each venture more ambitious than the last.

Our Injury Management Coordinator plays a key role in running our highly effective Early Intervention injury management program. So you won't need to build systems from scratch - your role will focus on strengthening, refining and delivering what we already have, leveraging your experience in a rehabilitation management capacity.

The core focus of this role is empowering and supporting our managers so they can best support their teams. You will work mostly on-site, providing hands-on support, attending medical appointments with employees, and occasionally conducting welfare checks with patrons who experience injuries on-site.

If you’re looking for a role where you have the ability to influence outcomes and operate beyond processing claims, this might be the role for you!

The Gig

- Partner directly with managers across all business units.

- Participate in and deliver training and education to equip managers with the tools to support injured workers and navigate return-to-work pathways.

- Coordinate injury response, workers' compensation claims and return-to-work plans under the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (Tas).

- Manage and facilitate Mona's Early Intervention injury management program by supporting injured workers to achieve safe, sustainable outcomes.

- Act as a consistent, approachable point of contact for injured workers, communicating clearly and compassionately throughout their recovery.

- Support injured workers to understand their rights, obligations and options at each stage of the claims and return-to-work process.

- Conduct compassionate and prompt welfare checks for patrons injured on-site.

- Maintain strong relationships with medical panels, insurers and allied health providers.

- Attend off-site medical appointments with employees to facilitate clear communication and recovery plans.

- Conduct ergonomic assessments and coordinate the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

- Create and update job dictionaries to support accurate, evidence-based fitness for work and return-to-work assessments.

- Contribute to proactive injury prevention strategies tailored to diverse work environments, from kitchens to construction.

The You
- Approved training or accreditation as an Injury Management Coordinator under the Tasmanian Act.

- Previous experience in an Injury Management Coordinator role where you have played an advisory role and/or experience in Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation (Rehab Provider), Physiotherapy or Allied Health.

- Strong working knowledge of the Tasmanian workers' compensation scheme, claims management, return-to-work strategies and relevant privacy legislation.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record of coaching, advising and guiding leaders through injury management processes.

- High emotional intelligence, strong negotiation skills and a genuine passion for employee health and recovery.

- Ability to traverse wide-ranging terrain across our expansive sites (museum, vineyard, construction areas, etc.).

- A valid driver's licence with the flexibility to travel to external medical appointments with staff.

Mona isn’t a place in which everyone can thrive. You’ll have your core beliefs challenged (‘We’ll question those things that allow you to lie to yourself’), and you’ll need to be able to benefit from chaos (‘Mona is a ship afloat on a sea of chance’). If you have the requisite skills, and you seek to change both the art world and yourself, tell us how by applying via https://mona.net.au/connect/employment

Applications will be processed as they are received. If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply now. Applications will close on 28th August but will be reviewed and possibly progressed as they are received.
