The Opportunity In this VMO position, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, contemporary intensive care to a diverse adult casemix within a Level 5 ICU.

You will work alongside a highly respected team of Intensivists with backgrounds in anaesthesia, emergency medicine, general medicine, and advanced echocardiography.

Key Responsibilities

- ✔ Provide comprehensive specialist ICU/HDU care in collaboration with co-admitting VMOs
- ✔ Supervise, mentor and support junior medical officers and trainees across the hospital
- ✔ Engage compassionately with patients and families, ensuring clear communication and continuity of care
- ✔ Actively participate in safety, quality and governance activities
- ✔ Contribute to ongoing research and clinical improvement initiatives within the unit
- ✔ Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across the hospital About the ICU - Level 5 ICU | 10-bed combined ICU/HDU




- Broad range of adult medical and surgical presentations
- Occasional paediatric patients who are stabilised and transferred to tertiary paediatric services

- Well‑equipped unit with access to skilled senior nursing staff and allied health colleagues About you We are seeking a committed Intensivist who is:
- FRANZCA, FCICM or equivalent
- Experienced in providing high-level ICU care in an Australian or comparable healthcare setting
- Passionate about teaching and strengthening junior medical workforce skills
- Collaborative, approachable, and aligned with patient‑centred values
