Associate - Natural Resources

Location: Sydney / Perth

Our client

Global investment bank with a market-leading natural resources franchise in Australia. Their advisory work has been at the forefront of some of the largest and most high-profile deals in the sector in recent years. Due to increased activity and a substantial pipeline, the firm wish to appoint an experienced Associate to their natural resources coverage team.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join a highly respected team of investment bankers. As an Associate you will play an integral role supporting corporate and institutional clients across mining and energy sectors.

Key responsibilities include

- The management and execution of M&A;, ECM, and DCM transactions
- Lead and coordinate deal execution processes, working closely with senior bankers and product specialists
- Build and review complex financial models, valuations, and transaction analyses
- Prepare pitch books, client presentations, and live deal materials
- Conduct in-depth industry research and financial due diligence
- Attend client meetings and contribute to recent business origination




- Mentor and develop junior team members as they build their investment banking skill set
- Collaborate with coverage and product colleagues across the firm's global network

About You

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a front-office investment banking or M&A; advisory role
- Top academic results with a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline
- Well-versed in M&A;, ECM, and DCM, with a track record of executing complex transactions
- Excellent financial modelling, analytical, and valuation skills
- Highly driven, diligent, and detail-oriented professional with the ability to manage multiple work streams under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with senior clients and management
- A collaborative team player, equally comfortable working independently
