GQC AUSTRALIA is a Sydney-based financial services business providing cross-border currency and transaction-related support for individual and business clients.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a responsible, detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support our day-to-day finance operations, accounting records, payroll, BAS-related preparation, invoicing and business documentation needs.

This role is suitable for a junior accounting or finance professional with 1–3 years of hands-on accounting, bookkeeping or finance experience . CPA qualification or progress towards CPA will be highly regarded but is not required.

Previous experience in banking, financial services, payments, exchange, transaction-based businesses or similar regulated business environments will be highly regarded.

Role Description The Junior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW.

This role will support the company’s daily accounting and finance operations, including bookkeeping, invoice management, reconciliations, payroll coordination, BAS-related documentation, tax-related record preparation and financial record maintenance.

The successful candidate will work closely with management and external accounting or tax advisers to ensure financial information is accurate, well organised and properly documented.

The role may also involve assisting with business documentation, internal reports, investment-related written materials and confidential finance-related administrative matters where required.

This position is not intended to be a senior or leadership role. However, it requires strong attention to detail, reliability, confidentiality, a willingness to learn and the ability to work carefully in a fast-paced financial services workplace.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping records and support daily finance administration.
- Assist with cash flow records, account checking and finance-related administration.
- Support account reconciliations,



balance reviews and financial record checking.
- Prepare BAS-related information and assist with tax reporting documentation.
- Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll-related records.
- Issue invoices and assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable documentation.
- Collect, organise and maintain receipts, invoices, supporting documents and financial records.
- Prepare basic financial summaries, internal reports and documentation for management review.
- Assist with the preparation and organisation of external written documents, including investment intention letters, business correspondence and supporting materials.
- Liaise with external accountants, tax advisers, auditors or other professional service providers where required.
- Support internal finance procedures and assist with improving documentation and reporting processes.
- Assist management with confidential finance-related administration and documentation where appropriate.
- Perform other accounting, finance and administrative support tasks as required.

About You

- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance or corporate finance experience.
- Relevant accounting, finance, commerce or business-related qualification.
- CPA qualification, CPA study or intention to pursue CPA will be highly regarded but is not required.
- Previous experience in banking, financial services, payments, exchange, OTC, transaction-based businesses or similar regulated environments will be highly regarded.
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping, invoicing, reconciliations, payroll, BAS-related preparation and financial record management.




- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipts and supporting documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and well-organised financial records.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
- Good written communication skills and ability to assist with professional business documents.
- Proactive, reliable, organised and willing to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow instructions carefully.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and accounting software experience.
- Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are highly preferred due to our business operations and client base.

Highly Regarded

- CPA qualification, CPA study or progress towards CPA.
- Experience working in a financial services or regulated business environment.
- Experience in banking operations, payments, exchange, OTC or transaction-based financial services.
- Experience supporting directors, business owners or management with finance-related administration.
- Experience preparing formal business letters, investment-related documentation or external written materials.
- Knowledge of Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Strong Excel skills and experience maintaining structured financial records.
