Responsibilities

- Undertake child protection proceedings, including preparing court documents and advocating in hearings
- Provide legal advice on court practices and procedures
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents for senior lawyers
- Maintain compliance with quality and case management standards
- Engage with stakeholders to foster relationships and enhance service delivery
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of child protection law

Qualifications

- Admission, or eligibility for immediate admission as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland, and enrolment or eligibility for enrolment to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia

- Ideally knowledge of or ability to acquire child protection litigation knowledge

Preferred Skills

- Be admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland at least on a conditional basis within three months of the date of appointment
- An Open C class driver's license is a requirement, with the ability to drive to local Court locations




- Intrastate travel is required and includes same day and multi-day (overnight) travel

Pay range and compensation package $118,967 to $127,941 per year, plus 12.75% super. Temporary fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.
