This well-established company within a leading ASX-listed group are seeking a Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel to be the dedicated lawyer for their WA business. The role is business facing and will see you partner closely with senior leaders and operational stakeholders across a broad range of legal, commercial, contractual and risk matters.
This opportunity would suit a lawyer who is looking to move into a role that is beyond purely legal advisory work and gain greater influence, visibility and leadership exposure within a successful operational business.
Reporting to the General Manager and sitting on the leadership team, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Act as a trusted business partner to the senior leadership team, providing commercially focused legal advice that supports operational decision-making, risk management and strategic growth initiatives.
- Provide practical legal and commercial advice on contracts, risk and strategic business initiatives.
- Work closely with operational, procurement and business development teams to support and manage the tenders and proposals process and commercially assist any operational requirements.
- Advise on a broad range of matters including employment matters, investigations, safety obligations, regulatory compliance, contractual disputes, insurance and broader risk management issues.
- Manage external legal counsel and specialist advisers.
- Leading the negotiation and review of client, supplier and subcontractor agreements and oversee the full contract lifecycle.

This role offers exceptional insight into commercial decision making, allowing you to influence strategy and build strong relationships across the business. Full support will be given to ensure you are successful in your role.
We are seeking a hands-on professional with an ability to thrive in what is also an autonomous environment. This role could be either full-time or our client is open to 4 days for the right lawyer.
