Flexible / Remote About RMS
At RMS, our people build scalable technology for the hospitality industry worldwide. We are in a high growth, high impact phase, applying data and AI to how we design, build, and evolve our SaaS platform. We are building for scale, speed, and long term innovation. At RMS, every person is empowered to own their space, challenge the status quo, and make a meaningful impact. Your Impact
This is the practical legal partner role for a fast-growing SaaS business. You'll own customer contract negotiation end to end, working closely with our commercial teams, get hands on with the risk that comes with payments, SLAs, and disputes, and build the systems and templates that mean legal stops being a bottleneck. You'll be the first legal hire building this out properly, so there's real room to shape how contracting works here, not just process what lands on your desk.
What you'll be doing
Draft, review, and negotiate customer contracts including SaaS subscription agreements, MSAs, DPAs, SLAs, and partner or reseller agreements
Be the go-to legal contact for Sales and Customer Success when a deal needs a fast, practical answer
Manage risk around payment terms, SLAs, and disputes, and know when to push back and when to find a workaround
Build a contract template library and put better tools and processes in place so contracts move faster as we grow
Bring employment law knowledge to the table when People Experience needs it, ideally across more than one jurisdiction
Keep an eye on data protection obligations under GDPR, CCPA, and the Australian Privacy Act
Protect our IP, including software ownership and open source compliance What you'll bring
You're admitted to practice law in Australia A commercial head on your shoulders. You're risk aware, not risk averse, and you'd rather find a workable path than default to no
Solid experience in SaaS or software commercial agreements, ideally with a mix of private practice and in house experience
Employment law experience across international jurisdictions is a strong plus The ability to explain legal risk in plain English to people who aren't lawyers
Comfort using AI tools to work faster, and curiosity about where AI is heading in legal and IP more broadly Why RMS?
