Library Services Trainee (AT2705) Love books but know there's more to a library than what's on the shelves? As a Library Services Trainee with Mackay Regional Council, you'll be part of a vibrant community hub where learning, creativity and connection come to life. While you'll develop skills in managing a diverse collection of books, digital resources and multimedia, there's so much more to explore.

Libraries are at the heart of our community, and you'll play an important role in supporting a wide range of programs and events. From wellness activities and creative workshops to educational sessions and community initiatives, you'll help bring people together while building valuable customer service, technology and engagement skills.

And Qualification This is an 18-month traineeship. On completion you will obtain a Certificate IV in Library and Information Services. This is a traineeship and is ideal for school leavers, those new to the industry or seeking a career change. Eligibility criteria apply if you hold existing qualifications in this area.

What You Will Need To Succeed An enthusiastic and outgoing people-person. Desire to learn public speaking skills in a variety of group settings, including children, teens and adults. An interest in front and back of house library services, including customer service, memberships, cataloguing, community programs and technical support.

Good verbal and written communication skills. Desire to provide a high level of service to internal and external customers. You're a team player, with the ability to learn from, and grow positive relationships with others.

Working with Children Blue card or willing to obtain. Successful completion of Year 10 is desirable, but not required.
