About This Position
Kingborough Council has multiple vacancies for a Maintenance and Construction Worker within the Roads Unit. These positions undertake general labouring duties and plant/truck operations associated with the maintenance and construction of roads and drainage assets.
You will need good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as being physically fit for work in an outdoor environment. A white card and current driver’s licence are essential. Previous experience working in the civil construction sector would be well regarded.
For the right Bruny Island applicant there is an prospect to work on Bruny Island, with regular travel to Kingston not required.
As The Successful Applicant, You Will Have
- Experience in the civil construction industry,
- Experience using a variety of plant and machinery,
- Ability to perform manual labour,
- Good communication skills,
- Experience working as part of a team whilst also being self-sufficient,
- A commitment to adhering to safe work practices.
Further Details The role is full-time and offers a salary in the range of $67,042 - $68,847 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus 12.5% employer superannuation contribution. The outdoor workforce is currently working a 4-day week on a trial basis. This arrangement is subject to review and may revert to a 9-day fortnight.
