Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk and Compliance team at Marsh. This role will be based in either our Sydney or Melbourne office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

At Marsh, our Risk and Compliance team helps support a resilient, safe and well-governed business. We work across the organisation to provide clear insight into risk, strengthen controls and support informed decision-making.

In this role, you will contribute to our comprehensive assurance program and help assess the effectiveness of key policies, controls and compliance obligations. The role offers broad exposure across the business, with varied work spanning multiple areas. You will work with a range of internal and external stakeholders and support the ongoing development of our risk and compliance capability.

We will count on you to:

Monitoring & Oversight (75%)

Develop an understanding of the business model, strategy, risk appetite, risk profile and external environment

Contribute to the Line 2 monitoring and oversight assurance program so it remains aligned with strategic objectives, material risks and obligations, and emerging industry risks

Deliver Line 2 comprehensive assurance activities in line with agreed terms of reference, including objective, scope, methodology and timing

Support Line 2 risk and control assurance activities as required

Maintain tools and operating procedures that support Line 2 assurance activities

Identify process inefficiencies across Business and Risk and Compliance functions and recommend practical improvements

Document fact-based observations and actionable recommendations, supported by appropriate rationale and evidence

Prepare concise and meaningful risk and compliance reports for management and board-level forums and committees

Strategy, Priorities & People (25%)





Support tasks associated with priorities and work plans for the Pacific Risk and Compliance function

Contribute to the development of frameworks, tools, systems and processes that help the organisation manage and forecast risks effectively

Complete ad hoc activities and tasks requested by the Head of Monitoring & Oversight

Deliver assigned tasks on time and to a high standard

What you need to have:

Experience in a similar risk, compliance or audit role within financial services or professional services

Experience working in, or supporting, a regulated financial services business, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislative requirements

Working knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, with the ability to consider risk from a commercial and strategic perspective

Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and present information to senior stakeholders

What makes you stand out:

Experience working within the financial services industry ideally across insurance broking, superannuation, managed investment schemes, funds management or investments

Experience supporting monitoring, oversight or assurance activities

Exposure to risk, compliance or audit reporting for senior stakeholders
