We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a large and well-established recycling operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for consistent hours, robust earning potential and long-term work in a heavy industrial environment.
The Role
Working within a large-scale recycling facility, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and servicing of heavy industrial plant and machinery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Mechanical repairs and fault finding
- Servicing conveyors, crushers, compactors and other heavy industrial equipment
- Planned maintenance and shutdown work
- Welding and fabrication as required
- Identifying and rectifying mechanical issues
- Working safely in a heavy industrial environment
- Completing maintenance records and following site procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter
- Previous experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, recycling, mining or similar environments
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience working with heavy machinery and conveyors highly regarded
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Strong commitment to safety
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working 10–12 hour shifts
