What You’ll Do
Join the Santos Brisbane Engineering team and play a key role in supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our assets. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, projects and engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges and drive continuous improvement.
Key accountabilities include
- Ownership of Reliability Management Plans (RMPs) to meet reliability, safety and cost outcomes for our assets
- Provide technical advice and support to operations and maintenance teams in a fast-paced setting
- Improve and optimise maintenance strategies using reliability-based methodologies (Reliability Centred Maintenance, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and Defect Elimination)
- Mitigate equipment obsolescence and vulnerabilities
- Ensure maintenance is performed effectively through appropriate procedures and practices in compliance with legislation and corporate standards
- Lead reliability investigations & assurance including reporting for senior management
- Provide proactive technical surveillance on equipment, report anomalies and drive timely resolution
- Lead and review management of change for reliability-based initiatives
- Provide technical input and assurance of minor capital upgrade projects
- Build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and vendors to promote continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Degree qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. Chartered status or eligibility (CPEng/RPEQ) will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience within oil and gas, energy, petrochemical or similar industrial environments. Major hazard facility background will be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering standards
- Experience with maintenance practices and reliability principles
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and operational stakeholders.
- Experience with CMMS such as SAP
