We are looking for a media professional with 2-3 years’ experience to join the Corporate Affairs team in our peak industry body.
About us:
Chances are you’ve seen our members in your local community. We represent over 1,100 diverse sporting and cultural clubs including RSLs, bowls, golf and leagues clubs.
About the role:
The position is permanent and full time. Our office is in the Sydney CBD, near Town Hall station, with flexible working options.
We need someone with strong media skills, who possesses a deep understanding of the media landscape. You’ll be a great writer and editor, with exceptional attention to detail, a quick thinker, and someone who can work independently as well as collaborate as part of the broader Corporate Affairs team.
Key responsibilities:
Media management
- Pitch and place media stories on key issues
- Generate positive media coverage
- Promote our events.
ClubLife.com.au
- Contribute articles each week
- Provide editorial support.
ClubTV & ClubLife Podcast
- Prepare scripts and research, coordinate talent and communicate with key stakeholders involved in production.
- Assist with post-production of episodes.
What does success look like?
- Number of story ideas generated and pitched
- The quality and timeliness of stories generated
- The effort taken to research, craft and pitch stories.
- The quality of ClubTV & Podcast episodes scripted and produced
You’ll also be measured on your overall contribution to the team. We hire people who are collaborative, friendly and ready to go the extra mile.
Skills and experience:
- You must be highly skilled in storytelling across print, digital, broadcast and social media.
- You must be able to write quickly and accurately.
- You will be able to suggest new and creative approaches to engaging with our audience.
- You must have a demonstrated commitment to best-practice journalism and display the highest of ethical standards.
- You must be confident in liaising with key stakeholders including our member clubs and media outlets.
- You should have more than two years’ experience working in media/communications/PR.
- You’ll also have great stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with registered clubs and/or knowledge of the industry would be highly regarded.
