Merchandise Planning Assistant
You like it when everything lines up, and you're the one who makes sure it does.
We've created this role for someone who wants to build a real career in merchandise planning, starting with the fundamentals. You'll learn how product, stock and trade come together, working closely with our planning team as they show you how the frameworks work.
This is the foundation the planning function runs on. Get it right, and everything above you moves faster.
About Us
Founded in 2021, Hommey set out to prove that an aspirational home shouldn't have to cost a fortune. A few years on, we're an omni channel homewares and lifestyle brand across Australia and the US, and we've built the brand that proves it: helping people create a home that feels completely theirs, without compromise.
The Role
You'll own the day to day detail that keeps planning accurate and moving.
- Deliver weekly sales, stock and KPI reporting across AU and US markets
- Track purchase orders from despatch through to warehouse put away
- Maintain range plans, buy plans and new SKU set up
- Monitor stock cover, ageing and sell through, flagging risks early
- Prepare trade inputs and performance data for weekly trading meetings
- Support Production, Operations and Marketing with day to day planning queries
Who We're Looking For
You're organised, curious and drawn to detail, and you see this role as the start of something, not just a task list.
- 1 to 2 years in retail, ecommerce or a planning support role
- Confident in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and lookups
- Naturally detail oriented and quick to spot inconsistencies
- Organised, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Curious about the numbers, not just recording them
And the non-negotiables:
you follow things through without being asked twice, you ask good questions and chase down what you need, and you're genuinely keen to build a career in planning, not just fill in time.
What's on Offer
- Real ownership of your work as the business grows
- A fast moving team that lets you make decisions and see impact
- Five Comfort Days a year, on top of your standard leave
- A adaptable, creative culture that looks out for each other
Ready to Join Us?

Due to the high number of applications we receive, we're not able to respond to everyone individually at this early stage. If you're shortlisted, we'll be in touch about next steps.
To be considered for this role, please briefly address the following in your cover letter:
- How many years' experience do you have as a Merchandise Planning Assistant?
- Do you have 1 to 2 years of experience in a retail, ecommerce or planning support role, or are you a strong graduate with relevant internship or retail experience?
